Out of the House
Topic: Drawing

I tried posting yesterday but my computer was having issues.

Well I got out of the house today. Dave took me to the hospital to get my foot Xray'd again. Well they took me to an xray room and the young girl who was about to take my xrays apologized for the old equipment she said that some of these were adjustable. So there was this big step up before you got to the table. To make a long story short I tried to get up there with my one good leg and fell backwards off the step onto the floor and banged my hip. At that point we decided we would wait for the next available room that had the adjustable equipment. From then on things went smoothly. Now I have to wait the 24-48 hours it will take the hospital to get my xrays to the Dr. Maybe by Thursday I will know something more.

Dave did take me out to lunch so that was nice. I had not been outside in 3 weeks so that was nice. Now getting up the front steps and back into the house was a little difficult but we managed it.

I thought there would be more waiting time at the hospital and I'd get to knit or draw but I barely got a sketch done. Here is a picture I drew of an aquarium in the lobby.

I also did the EDM challenge #53 a Mouth. As you can tell I need to work more on this technique.

Here are some more sketches when I was bored, I guess this qualifies me for challenges #11 glasses, #13 telephone, #23 foot.

Then I also think the chair I drew last week should be good for Illustration Friday's challenge.

Knitting
I went looking for my yarn for the Knitting Olympics and actually found it without too much trouble. I am using this.

Now I just need to find my #6 circular needles and make a copy of the pattern and I'll be all set to knit. I think we can start at 2 pm on Friday but I may wait until opening ceremonies start that evening. I may have Amy or Sarah wind my skeins into balls. Its hard to do on 1 foot.

Every time I have a particularly bad time with this foot or the fact that I am confined and there is nothing that I can do about it, I have to rethink my situation. I find that its the old adage "if god gives you lemons then make lemonade". I have to re-think things and try to see this as a gift, I have all this time and I can use it either in a positive or negative way. What an opportunity it is, to have time to create, to read, to reflect on where I want to be going next. I need to keep that vision in my mind more often it somehow makes the pain more bearable.

Gone to the Dogs
Topic: Drawing
Drawing

I have continued with the drawing so here is EDM#52 Challenge. The Dog. I had troubles getting FLynn to hold still. Here are 2 attempts to draw him.

I have been drawing more to illustrate my journals and its been fun. Just silly stuff that I won't bore you with. I find it almost healing to be doing it.

Knitting

I hate the way the Jaywalker socks look. I may just unravel the yarn, reskein it and gift it to a friend. The purple sock yarn splits so its a pain to work with.

The Olympics start soon so I am anxious to get going on the shawl. It is truly amazin that there are more Knitting Olympians than actual athletes going to Torino.

I thought I would go to the Dr. to check on my foot and I have to wait 2 weeks for an appointment, oh joy.

My friend Ginger came over yesterday and we had a nice lunch and colored Mandala's that was so much fun. Coloring a mandala is so calming it was a nice way to spend the afternoon. I have such nice friends.
